Responsible gambling

Nobody under 18 belongs on any of the ten sites ranked here. For everyone else the sensible frame is simple arithmetic: decide before you log in what the evening is allowed to cost, and accept that the figure is gone whatever the reels do afterwards.

Trouble rarely announces itself. It shows up as a second deposit made to win back the first, as sessions that run past midnight when an hour was planned, as vague answers when a partner asks how it went, or as a stake funded by a credit card. Account tools answer all four: a lower deposit cap or a session timer applies the moment you save it, while raising either one has to sit out a delay first.

Support in New Zealand is free, anonymous and open at any hour. Ring the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655, or contact the Problem Gambling Foundation for counselling in person or online. Whanau and partners can use both services on their own behalf, without the player present.
